Hollis continues to lead the side mount revolution - the new Side Mount System (SMS) Katana is the latest innovation in the line of side mount systems developed by Hollis - engineered to perform in the most extreme environments. The Katana was designed with warm water Cenotes and Caves of Mexico in mind. Nick Hollis has worked with several respected Mexican cave instructors and North Florida cave instructors to sharpen the Katana into a fine-tuned diving weapon. Curved and slender like the finest traditional Japanese sword - the Katana builds on the proven SMS100 and SMS75 incorporating a compact and streamlined design.

The 30 lbs. (13.6 kg) lift wing is designed to reduce size and weight for travel. Two 5 lbs. (2.26 kg) weight pockets with an optional 5 lbs. (2.26 kg) trim pouches available. The system has an H" harness design for adjustability and reversible Inflator & Dump assembly. Primary bungees integrated into to wing to pull tanks upward away from diver's torso and integrated retainers located to avoid overhead interference. The harness comes with multiple shoulders, waist and crotch strap stainless steel D-rings for rigging and accessory attachment. The harness is made from durable webbing and has a stainless steel latch-style: waist strap buckle. Hollis Gear Power Inflator Mechanism is made from durable impact-resistant plastic with internal components and inlet quick-disconnect nipple made from chrome-plated brass. The inflator comes with a 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect inflator hose for attachment to the first stage regulator. The air cell is made from radio frequency (RF) welded seam nylon with urethane interior laminate. The SMS Katana comes with an owner's manual.
